Apple users are currently facing a widespread issue that is affecting their Apple ID, locking them out of their own accounts. Reports from various users on social media platforms suggest that the problem is causing them to be logged out from their devices and prompted to change their Apple ID password.
The issue seems to be impacting some users more severely than others. While some users are experiencing the bug and are getting locked out of their accounts, others have reported that they remain unaffected. Those who have been locked out have found that resetting their Apple ID password helps in regaining access to their accounts.
For instance, a Gadgets 360 staff member shared their experience of being logged out of both their iPhone and iPad and being prompted to reset their account password. Similarly, well-known software developers Michael Tsai and Dave Wood have also detailed their encounters with the Apple ID reset bug.
The issue has prompted several users to share their experiences on various social media platforms such as Threads, X (formerly Twitter), and Mastodon. Some users have expressed frustration at not being able to reset their passwords despite being certain that they are correct. The error message “Account locked for security reasons” has also been reported by some users.
