OnePlus is rumored to be in the process of developing a ground-breaking artificial intelligence (AI) feature that will enable users to effortlessly create text summaries from voice recordings. This innovative feature, which has been uncovered in the latest version of Oxygen OS, the company’s personalized Android interface, is said to have the capacity to support various audio formats, making it highly versatile.
Despite not being readily visible to users and inaccessible to beta testers at present, Indian users may be among the first to experience this feature, according to indications found within the software code. This revelation was made possible by Android Authority’s examination of Oxygen OS 14.1, where the feature has yet to be activated, but its presence was detected during the software’s dissection.
OnePlus is said to be developing a specialized sound recorder that harnesses the AI Summarizer feature that was previously showcased by the company and spotted on devices such as the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open. In particular, the AI Voice Recording Summary feature will be compatible with a range of audio file types, including MP3, AMR, AWB, AAC, and WAV, as suggested by the code fragment “convert_error_format.”
To ensure optimal performance, the recording size must not exceed 500MB, and the duration should not surpass five hours. Notably, very brief recordings will not be used for generating summaries. Furthermore, users may be subject to limitations on the number of summary generation tasks they can initiate simultaneously, with the potential for a daily cap that remains unspecified. These restrictions hint at the possibility of server-level constraints or a premium subscription tier for enhanced functionality.
Notably, references to the AI feature were also uncovered in the code of the Android 15 Developer Preview 2, raising anticipation for its imminent launch. While additional details regarding the feature remain scarce, speculations abound regarding the potential deployment locations for this cutting-edge functionality, suggesting a global rollout in the near future.
OnePlus’ foray into AI-driven voice recording summarization represents a significant step towards enhancing user experiences and streamlining productivity. As the tech industry continues to push boundaries, innovations like this pave the way for a more seamless integration of advanced technologies into everyday tasks. With the promise of easier access to vital information and improved organization, the OnePlus AI feature holds immense promise for the future of voice recording technology.
