Recent developments in the tech industry have sparked a new debate among users – the battle of artificial intelligence. Apple Intelligence features were recently previewed with the iOS 18.1 Developer Beta update, showcasing impressive capabilities in proofreading and rewriting texts. On the other hand, Samsung’s Galaxy AI has been a prominent player in the AI market, boasting its own set of features and limitations.
A user with access to Apple Intelligence’s AI features demonstrated the Writing Tools in action by proofreading a 2,203-word Wikipedia article in less than two minutes. The demo showcased features such as Proofread, Rewrite (Friendly, Professional, and Concise tones), and Summary. The user claimed that the character limit for Apple Intelligence’s feature surpassed Samsung’s Galaxy AI, emphasizing the high processing capabilities of the M2-powered iPad Pro.
Gadgets 360 staff members tested the character limit for AI summarisation and found Apple Intelligence capable of processing up to 9,917 characters with space, or 8,413 characters without space. In contrast, Samsung’s Galaxy AI has a character limit of 200-4,000 characters for AI features in the Notes app. Despite initial claims of Galaxy AI having a character limit of 500 characters, the actual limit was found to be higher. However, the user’s demonstration of Apple Intelligence processing over 14,000 characters raises questions about its true capabilities compared to Galaxy AI.
While the user’s demo highlighted Apple Intelligence’s impressive proofreading speed and character limit, it remains unclear whether the AI tool has similar capabilities in the summarisation or rewriting features. The claims made by a single source need to be validated once Apple officially releases the feature to the public. It is important to note that these are still early days in the AI battle, and more comprehensive comparisons between Apple Intelligence and Galaxy AI are needed to determine the superior AI platform.
The demonstration of Apple Intelligence features provides a glimpse into the potential capabilities of AI in enhancing writing tools. However, further testing and reviews are required to fully assess the performance and limitations of Apple Intelligence compared to existing AI platforms like Galaxy AI. The future of AI in writing tools is promising, with tech giants like Apple and Samsung leading the way in innovation and feature development.
