After his court appearance, Trump will be heading back to Florida to attend the Republican National Committee’s spring donor retreat. This annual event is known for bringing together major donors and GOP heavyweights, and this year, the list of “Special Guests” in Florida includes potential vice presidential picks. Republican Sens. Marco Rubio, Tim Scott, J.D. Vance, along with North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem are expected to attend the event.
Potential Vice Presidential Candidates
These individuals are reportedly under consideration as potential vice presidential candidates on Trump’s presumptive ticket. Trump has mentioned that he won’t announce his running mate until closer to the Republican National Convention in July. The retreat will take place at both the Four Seasons Hotel in Palm Beach and Trump’s nearby club, Mar-a-Lago. The weekend will kick off with a reception at the Four Seasons followed by speeches from House Speaker Mike Johnson, Rep. Elise Stefanik, and RNC co-chair Lara Trump, Eric Trump’s wife. The following day, guests will head to Mar-a-Lago for lunch and more speeches from Trump and other Republican officials. The evening will feature a dinner at the Four Seasons with speeches from potential vice presidential picks and Republican Senate candidates.
Despite the ongoing legal challenges, Trump is actively engaging with potential running mates and donors in Florida. The event at Mar-a-Lago provides a platform for discussions and networking among key Republican figures.
